At Sentai, we’re so excited to be taking the next step in our journey – and we hope that you will join us along the way.
As of November 5th, 2020, we’ll be setting the wheels of our all-new Kickstarter campaign in motion to help raise money for our product launch.
Up until now, our assisted living technology has transformed from an exciting idea into a fully fledged product that aims to transform the lives of the elderly. And now, we’re thrilled to finally be putting it on the market.
In just 34 days, we hope to get our message out there, and start making a positive impact on the lives of the elderly. From receiving kind donations to achieving pre-orders, we aim to encourage the wider population to support our mission of helping older people live more independently, for longer.
Why Are We Using Kickstarter?
Creating a Kickstarter campaign is a much quicker, more efficient way of getting our mission, and our product, known by those who would benefit from our help.
With a strong community of supporters, too, Kickstarter offers us an easy way to collaborate, whilst sharing ideas and feedback that will help us continue making improvements along the way.
With over 18 months spent planning, designing and finalising our end product, we wanted to make sure that our launch is a successful one – and we’re confident that Kickstarter will help us do just that.
For the uninitiated, Sentai is a digital companion for those needing additional support within their own homes. Equipped with a smart speaker, Sentai will deliver conversation-like interactions and friendly reminders. Its ability to sensor movement, too, means that both usual and unusual behaviour patterns are recorded, and flagged when needed. Sentai is a device that can be subtly integrated into the home, allowing the older generations to continue living safely, yet independently.
Sentai doesn’t just offer peace of mind for the user, though. With the ability to connect to and update its mobile app, family members and friends can stay up-to-date in real-time whilst they are out and about. For example, the Sentai device will alert the app when medication has been administered, and in the event of an emergency.
Having emerged from a personal experience that our CEO encountered, Sentai reduces loneliness and vulnerability amongst the older generations. From offering tailored guidance to point its users in the right direction, to having the ability to differentiate a cat from an unwanted intruder, Sentai uses artificial intelligence to promote safety, independence and companionship.
Supporting Care Home Professionals
At Sentai, we’re passionate about supporting caregivers, too. We know how difficult it can be, particularly in the current circumstances, to offer high quality, individualised care whilst having to juggle numerous other responsibilities.
That’s why we’re supporting care home professionals with our Careview packages. Our first package focuses on providing 25 Sentai buddies, 25 wearable sensors and 25 clickable buttons to a care home environment. Each buddy has been designed to act independently, learning behaviour patterns and preferences and delivering friendly reminders as and when needed. Data regarding the individual’s health is then shared with the relevant health professionals and relatives, so that personalised care can be provided in a timely, efficient manner.
Our second package focuses on training and development. We offer an online training programme, coupled with installation and user training, plus 12 months’ support, to ensure that care home professionals can continue with their personal development easily and efficiently.
Please do take a look at our Kickstarter campaign for more details.
From simply donating a small sum to pre-ordering our product with the Early Bird offer, there are a variety of ways that you can help us reach our goal.
Each time someone purchases a Sentai, we’ll be donating £5 to the Adopt a Grandparent charity; an initiative created by a Surrey care home group that, like us, aims to help combat loneliness on a global scale.
Growing With Support From Innovate UK
Innovate UK, the UK’s innovation agency, is a government initiative that, as part of its Sustainable Innovation Fund, is investing up to £191 million to find research and development projects over the next two years.
As a new start-up, and at a time where the older generations are most vulnerable, at Sentai, we are fortunate to have kindly received a grant from Innovate UK to help us get started in the best way possible.
It’s estimated that 1.4 million people, aged 50 and over in England, suffer alone with loneliness. This is simply not something that sits well with us at Sentai – and so it is our aim to provide companionship and support to those who need it. We’re incredibly grateful that the government has chosen to support us in our launch, and as a result, we hope we can change many lives for the better.
We’re thrilled to have already come so far. Starting its life as a lightbulb moment, before expanding to a group of 16, Sentai is edging closer towards its goal of changing the lives of the older generation for the better. To view our campaign in more detail, do take a look at our Kickstarter page.
From all at Sentai, we would like to thank you for your continued support, and we can’t wait to see what the next chapter brings. To find out more about us and our product, please do browse our website.
